My Trip to Guatemala
July 2010
Dear Family and Friends,
Wow. It’s been over four months since I went to Guatemala on a missions trip with Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry – Chicagoland. God’s glory came down and set people free, healed people, and showed forth the light of the Gospel. Personally, I received freedom from the fear of man which had haunted me as long as I can remember, and many of our team members received this same freedom. Let me tell you a little about how your generosity brought Heaven’s riches to Guatemala!
This is Oscar. We met him in the dumps. He hurt his leg a long time ago and couldn’t walk without his crutch. One of our teams prayed for him, and His leg grew out FOUR INCHES!!! He then walked without his crutch for ½ mile, telling everyone how God had healed him! (see video here)
Do you see the man sitting down with the white t-shirt on? I don’t know much of the details, but he was in a wheelchair and began feeling sensation in the back of his foot!!! We didn’t see the healing, but the sensation is a sign of God’s touch!
Felix who is twelve years old followed us everywhere we went while in the dumps. I could see his hunger for the things of God, for the light to come. It is so amazing to watch innocent children come unto Jesus.
We had a good time while in Guatemala. We went salsa dancing, learned break dancing, went shopping, prayed and prophesied over a worship team, prophesied over a YWAM school, face painted the children’s faces, made balloon animals for the children, played soccer with them, witnessed over 60 healings take place, witnessed salvations, prayed for and talked to men who practiced transvestism, ministered unto beautiful women who practiced prostitution, and so much more! It was a two weeks I will never forget. The people were absolutely beautiful; their eyes simply GLOWED. God loves them so much. His face shines down upon Guatemala, and it is very evident in the transformation that is taking place there. On a side note, Guatemala has just recently experienced some serious devastations, and prayer would be greatly appreciated as they are recovering.
Without your prayers and support, this would have been impossible for sure!
Thank you!
Love,
Kayla Hawkins
